Brazil is surrounded by a large geographical area, largely including highlands.
Parts of Brazil’s eastern, central, and southern areas are also occupied.
The highlands cover about half of the land area.
Brazil’s physical features can be divided into five main physiographic areas: the Guiana Highlands in the north, the Amazonian lowlands, the Pantanal in the central west, and the Brazilian Highlands (including the extensive Coastal Mountains), and the Coastal Lowlands.
